Florida Spa Association The Scoop
Feelin' Hot! Hot! Hot!
A Note From Ilana

As we move closer to the end of summer, we hope you've taken a step back to indulge in some "me time" and enjoy the dog days of summer. Perhaps a family trip, a favorite hobby, or a fabulous massage for YOU!

If you've been knee deep into Miami Spa Month, and rockin' your spa, start looking forward to the end of the month and catch your breath. Regardless, this is a great time to re-evaluate this past high season... the good, the bad, and the unexpected. Now is the time to reflect. How can you make a difference, make it better going forward into the new year? And how can we, the FSA, help you?

On July 20th, the FSA Board Members held a retreat to plan out 2016 in an effort to be more proactive in providing support and tools to members (both spas and vendors) and to continue to unite our Florida family. These brainstorming sessions included challenges, solutions, and plans that were strategically created by the A-Team.

In addition to some new and innovative events being planned, we devised initiatives to grow the FSA website through education, advertising, promotional campaigns, job banks, and more!

As an association invested in Florida, FSA's mission is to be the best platform in uniting its members and making the spa industry in Florida shine bright just like its name..."the Sunshine State"

Wishing you a fun, safe, and very successful August!

Have a Question?

imgThe FSA is excited about the new and informative section called "Ask FSA" and we have had a great response. With the best in mind for the Florida spa family, we've answered our second question. Remember... what do you want to learn about spa operations, the spa industry, leadership, vendor relations, wellness...? Each month, we will select one question and experts within the FSA team will share their insights in the upcoming newsletter.

This month's question is: "What is the best piece of advice you ever received about spa management?"

- Terry Prager, Vice President of Business Development for The Americas ESPA International, gave us her expert insight:

"I would say that the most important piece of advice I ever heard was to LISTEN to the clients and your team, and always put the guest in the middle of every decision you make. A Spa team is a very gifted and talented group of human beings and it is really important to listen to their needs and thank them for what they do, genuinely and regularly. They are givers of care and love and need to feel appreciated. A happy team leads to happy guests."

Ask a Question

"Thank you again for making me feel so welcome and valued at the FSA event. You and your team did an excellent job of providing a high quality platform for all of our businesses."

"The January FSA show in Orlando at the Ritz was beyond our expectations. Everything at the show was professional and highly organized. We look forward to continuing to partner with FSA for all your future shows. We are so pleased; I want to make sure we are registered for all you shows going forward."
